AboutSteph’s Pond Naturist Club:
Steph’s Pond Nudist Nude Campground and Naturist Club – Not far from Lake Ontario, in a little town called Williamson in upstate New York, there’s a location you could drive by each and every day without ever understanding it’s a nudist park or a unclothed campground. You just have to understand it is there.
Getting toSteph’s Pond Nudist Park and Nude CampgroundIn Upstate NY
Steph’s Pond naturistclub is a family friendly nudist park and naked campground. It just opened for the 2013 season on May 1st and is marked by 4 numbers on a post at the conclusion of the driveway.
Drive a minute or so down the dirt path through the wooded land, and you will arrive at a house where you must check in. A security camera midway down the driveway tips them away to approaching guests, and more often than not, at least one of the hosts will greet you outside.
Steph’s Pond Naturist ParkRates and General Info:
Gary and Judy reside in this house, and about 40 years ago, the 65 acres of land were turned into a campground for naked nature-lovers of all ages to appreciate as well. Families ($30), couples ($30), plus some singles ($20) may appreciate a day of being nude in the sun at this carry-in, carryout park in the woods. Go for the day, stay for the weekend, or lease if you just need to hang out even more.
There are modest cottages, campers, and areas accessible for nudist teen boys . I can not particularly describe the accommodation options since I never remained overnight, but I have heard there is no electrical, so be sure to ask about this before seeing. Also torches and lamps are consistently good to have in the car.

As far as showers and bathrooms, there exists an outdoor shower, along with an outhouse, not really far from Gary and Judy’s house. The outdoor shower has an array of shampoos, conditioners, soaps, etc, or you are able to bring your own. The outhousewhere do I start? I’ve personally never seen an outhouse with leg room! Or design. Or relaxation.
Really, this is the most impressive outhouse I’ve ever seen. It’s enclosed, but still with the ground as the flooring; decorated; somewhat curved in shape. And the toilet actually flushes, but not like the people in essentially every home. There is certainly a pedal under the bowl. The whole thing is actually something which must be seen to be understood.
Hikers will appreciate the amazing scenery, peace, and work out offered up by the trails. Merely keep track of your path; I managed to get lost once or twice. Is wandering through the woods not your cup of tea?
Gather your friends and play some volleyball with the net they have set up in the sun! For those who might rather play a game which allows them to hold a beer in one hand the entire time, there is additionally a nearby horseshoe pit.
Getting hungry? Take a rest in the games for a snack. There are picnic tables available, or you can find a clearing and have a good old-fashioned blanket-style picnic! But make sure to bring in your own food, as there is no restaurant on the grounds.
Bare sunbathing at steph’s pond naturist club in upstate NY
On to my absolute favourite way to relax, and the reason for the name of the park: The POND! Use a pleasant long stick to push the raft out to the middle of the 2.5 acre pond, kick back, and watch the clouds. Or scope out the wildlife!
Birds, fish, turtles, whatever else might be enjoying the pond with you. See and hear nothing but nature (and Judy & Gary’s house!) When sunlight gets too hot, there is one special area of the pond which is perfect for taking a dip. Do your best not to keep still for too much time, however, as the fish appear to actually enjoy nipping at toes!
Judy also adores flowers, and shows it by adorning the park with a breathtaking array of them throughout the grounds. The new Steph’s Pond website ( ) has images of some of what you will be able to see when you visit!
VisitingSteph’s Pond NaturistClub
You may have noticed that their website says “invitation only,” which means any interested parties seeing for the first time should call ahead and tell Judy or Gary that you plan on stopping by. Additionally let them know how you found out about their position! This really is particularly very important to singles.
I am sure they need to know that people are seeing with nothing but good intentions. Request a brief tour when you get there; they’ll be more than happy to assist you to find your way around and answer any questions you may have. Judy is the bubbly brunette with the ever-grinning smile, and Gary is a kind and friendly man.
I hope to see you all Steph’s Pond Naturist Club after May 1st!

Skinny Dipping in Old Hippie Land aka Woodstock, New York

Skinny Dipping At Nude Hippie Acreage Woodstock NY
Skinny Dipping in Woodstock – This past weekend Jordan and I took a day trip to upstate New York. We went to Woodstock, house of the naked hippies. Well, they’re not quite naked anymore, but more on that later.
When people think of Woodstock, they generally think of the enormous, legendary music festival that took place nearby in 1969. Decades before this festival, the town of Woodstock had created itself as a hub for artists, musicians and hippies, with its art colonies and summer music festivals.
Incidentally, I Have heard that the term “art colony” is how they came up with “naturist colony” in the 1900’s, but have yet to verify thisDoes anyone understand? (Regrettably “nudist colony” is a phrase that still persists today in spite of nudists’ efforts to stomp it out. Today we say naturist community, club or resort. FYI, using the phrases or terms “naturist colony” or “naturalist” is like writing “noob” across your brow.)
Nowadays the town of Woodstock is still called “Colony of the Arts” and has an active community of artists. The central area has quite a couple of art galleries and a lot of New Age stores. We saw a sign promoting a community drum circle. We also checked out their outside market where people sell clothes, crystals and gemstones, jewelry and home made goods.

It was fun exploring the town, but the day was blistering hot, so we truly needed to find a spot to swim. I imagine we were pretty certain we’d get to skinny dip because we didn’t even bother bringing our bathing suits. This was Woodstock after all and we supposed that there would still by a few naked hippies around who’d choose to swim unclothed.
The site listed several places where people could swim naked. So we decided to try Big Deep. The website says, “Walk downstream for more distant areas (downstream here bathing suits AREN’T customary and many users would really like to keep it that way!).”
Well, we decided we’d discover if that was accurate. The directions were accurate, and we found the water only a short distance from your parking lot. There were lots of individuals at the conclusion of the trail, all in swimsuits. So we walked along the water and readily found a quiet area to strip down.

The water was really chilly, but I managed to get in up to my waist. The bottom was largely mud or clay, and I did not see any fish. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings for a small while. It is tough to say whether there is a genuine custom of naked swimming here, as we didn’t strike anyone else doing it (no naked hippies – sorry to say).
On the way out we did run into a young couple looking to do the same thing (or at least the girl was). It’s fine when some nudies establish a naked place like Split Rock in New Paltz, but in the countryside, all you really need to find is a swimming spot with , to go skinny dipping.

In regards to Woodstock, some of you might also think of Morley Schloss, majority shareholder of Sunsport Gardens nudist park and longtime leader in the naturist movement. Morley has often told the story of his first social nudity encounter at the Woodstock Festival. Here’s how he tells it to Stephane in his interview on the Naturist Living Show:
“My first encounter was in August of 1969, and I, like thousands and thousands of other people, was at . And it was muddy and rainy and I was there with a 2 year old and a 1 month old. Anyway, I needed to get clean and there was this pond behind the stage and there were people skinny dipping and I did not have a bathing suit so I tried it. I was somewhat frightened, but I tried it and it was such an incredible feeling, sensing the air and water and sunlight all over me, that I was hooked immediately.”
Three days of nudity, drugs, free love, rock n’ rollwhen bodies were not so black and skinny dipping was no big deal (in some areas at least).
Just for fun, here’s a hushed home video clip from the Woodstock Festival, revealing individuals skinny dipping at 2:31.
