Happy Birthday Nudist Portal –
This month, FKK is celebrating its 2 year anniversary. It seems like just yesterday we had our first Naked Night Out in Manhattan. Thinking back to that first naked party in NYC, I still can’t believe how much we have grown and how many folks we have met.
For those of you who weren’t there on day one We had the most frustrating time just finding a spot that would be willing to host a naked party, not to mention the struggle to get a group of people to attend.
Today’s occasions pull in at least 100 or more people and they keep getting bigger and bigger. Much of the time we have been compelled to turn away people because the place won’t be able to hold more!
FKK has brought most of its subsequent in the mainstream, a signal that there is much interest in what we do and offer. But those early days weren’t simple and as we grew, things got even more difficult.
A memorable photo from one among the first “Naked Night Out” celebrations 🙂
We also underestimated the unwillingness of other groups and naturist organizations to collaborate and work together towards a mutual aim.
It’s no great secret that we’ve drawn much criticism from fellow naturists. We have supposed why this is, but so far we do not actually understand.
During the last weekend of September I had the joy of hearing a speaker that really put this into perspective. His name is Seth Godin, and he’s among my all-time favorite idols.
For people who don’t know who he is – shame on you! (And now Google his name.)
For http://nudismphotos.net/posts/my-girlfriend-does-the-same-and-does-never-wear-panties-either/ who do, there’s no doubt he is among the most influential thinkers of our time.
During the lecture, he called into question everything we do (because of the way we go about it). For him, just like for FKK, the outcome is less important as opposed to thought process that gets you there.
Among the examples he gave was the Lego company. The Lego company was about to go broke so they decided to alter their entire approach. Instead of simply offering arbitrary size Legos for kids to create their own universe, they began selling kits. Kids could now create only one thing by merely following the directions.
Another example was the current school system, which (based on Seth and my own private perspective) educates children the motions and how exactly to get great mark but stifles creativity and individualism. This instruction system penalizes kids who believe differently and / or in a sense that challenges the current conventional way of thinking.
What’s sadly missing is the creativity of thinking for oneself, the pride in trying to take action totally different or original, the messiness of trial and error and the fact that individuals just get credit for passing a test rather than for the thought process behind the reply.
Due to society we’re now fully equipped to work in factories and to think within a predetermined carton.
The world rewards us for doing things right and for following orders while it penalizes us for doing things wrong (a doctrine I personally never agreed with). If you ask me, life is a string of notions, failures and creative risks.
We have concluded that FKK is not, actually, a naturist organization by the traditional definition. In essence, FKK is an acceptance movement which evolved in the naturist and naturist upbringing of its founding members. So in essence we’re both naturists in practice, but maybe not your typical nudists or naturists in http://nudismsite.com/tube/the-sunday-morning-dawned-bright-nudist-story/ .
Felicity’s and my personal beliefs are in the center of what FKK is about. We believe that the days of “new age naturism” are upon us and the movement needs a form of supplemental movement to make it whole. We feel that there are a whole slew of issues that have to be addressed in the current society in order for us all to be more human.
We are trying to create something new and different. As a result of our new and exceptional prognosis, we have our fair share of critics.
FKK came under fire very early on by a handful of young people from Vita Nuda in addition to the leader of Florida Young Naturists. What Seth Godin was so great at saying was the fact that new ideas and individuals who are not scared to make errors will always come under fire from those who have been pre-programmed to believe a particular manner.
Some of what we do challenges the status quo, and this fact causes lots of people to feel uncomfortable. As if a brand new idea will necessarily destroy what was already created. The fact that we don’t believe exactly the same manner has been, and remains to be, a huge purpose of friction.
I am going to function as first to say that neither Felicity, myself nor FKK is perfect. We make mistakes, but we learn from them and proceed. We are not afraid to take risks, and we usually are not scared to admit when we are erroneous.
By the end of the day, looking back, we had a fascinating two years. We met some of the most astonishing folks. We got to see the best and worst in humankind and we got to live the first two years.
Now if we get live another two is up to you!
Join us this weekend in celebrating Halloween and our birthday and do not forget to buy raffles to help lupus research!
